Shop Architects:”Introduction”

Versioning: Evolutionary Techniques in Architecture

The  term versioning "is an operating term meant to describe a recent significant shift in the way architects and designer are using technology to spend in time as well as in territory the potential effects of design in our world." In architecture, "versioning can be seen as an attitude rather than an ideology." But how does this system works? "Design decisions are base on an organization tragedy capable of responding to the effects of the speed, turning, gradients congestion and the landscape to create a fluid behavior or variable movement.”

The reading concludes that versioning, as a process, “empowers the architect to take on the role of the translator of unforeseen relationships simultaneously in imagined and real space.”

How does versioning operates in different scales?

Project 1c: Compositional surfaces

“Surface can be seen as an agent of description and communication that ultimately begs for interpretation.”

Revised_Project 1b: Compositional Lines

“The geometrical surface can be seen as a process of description, communication and ultimately speculation”

Revised Project 1a: Compositional Points:

“Geometry understood as a system of lines offers a way to describe spatial organizations through profile and contour”

Readings: Greg Lynn

Reading talk points:

title: “Probable Geometries: The Architecture of writing bodies”
1.Practice and value of “Ideal proportion” vs. “trangressive”
2.Niemem Sketches: Juxtaposition of architecture findings vs. medical-scientific studies.
3.Lynn notes how the understanding and respecting the rule of exact geometry forms (ideal proportions) are just as valuable the amorphous organic forms; also, venerates the primitive geometrical principles findings by Delesse and Glagolev.

Title: “Blob Tectonics or why Tectonicts is Square and Topology is Groovy”
1.Blob: “the term blob connotes a thing which is neither singular nor multiple but an intelligence that behaves as if it were singular and networked but in its form can become virtually infinitely multiplied and distributed.” (Lynn, P. 172)
2.Blob in Architecture=”Blobitecture”, “Deconstructivism”
